Hyderabad: A software engineer working in a reputed company in Bengaluru, was arrested by the Prohibition and Excise department on charges of selling high quality foreign ganja to persons known to him. Based on a tip off regarding illegal transportation and sale of OG kush, which is high quality ganja at Prashanth Hills Colony in Raidurg, an excise team stepped up surveillance and conducted a surprise check and nabbed the software engineer Siva Ram, 28, a native of East Godavari district. Another person Ajay Karra from Bangalore, who was supplying the contraband to Siva Ram, was absconding.
As many as 175 grams of OG kush, one kg dry ganja, a bike and a mobile phone apart from sale proceeds of Rs.1.91 lakh were seized from Siva Ram’s possession.
Shamshabad Prohibition and Excise Officer, Krishna Priya, said that Siva Ram, a software engineer, was working as a consultant at the reputed company in Bengaluru. He used to visit Hyderabad by bus during weekend to sell the contraband to needy customers.
