Wynne Evans has stepped back from his BBC Wales radio show following an apology for making an "inappropriate and unacceptable" comment at the Strictly Come Dancing live tour launch event. The station confirmed that the opera singer is "taking some time off from his show". A spokesperson for BBC Wales listeners confirmed: "Wynne is taking some time off from his show on Radio Wales.

Robin Morgan will be presenting in his place." In the meantime, comedian Robin Windsor, who has been covering for Evans during his Strictly commitments, took over the morning programme on Monday (January 27) after his performance in Glasgow last night (January 26). It comes after the GoCompare star, who was forced to pull out of the dancing tour in Glasgow on Saturday (January 25) due to an ankle injury, apologised for his remarks.



According to The Mail on Sunday, the 52-year-old was filmed making the sexualised comment during the launch night (January 16) at the Birmingham Arena as the group prepared for a photo on stage. In a statement, Evans said: "My language was inappropriate and unacceptable for which I sincerely apologise." A spokesperson for the Strictly live tour and BBC Studios added: "We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints.

We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour." Evans also posted images of his injured ankle on Instagram , and in a video update said: "Ankle's getting a bit better, it was great to be ab.
