PS Plus is coming back for another pass with the first drop of February comes for all subscribers, with a collection of games for players to keep for good. Another month of free games is about to begin, and after a rocky start to the year for PS Plus subscribers, it’s hard for many to be able to predict what’s coming. After all, we just saw an absolute belter appear when the PS Plus Extra and Premium January 2025 games were revealed, offering players the biggest first-party game of recent years God of War: Ragnarok and Like a Dragon : The Man Who Erased His Name appear for subscribers to play at their leisure.

It’s more than enough to keep players engaged, but for Essential subscribers, these drops are underscored with confusion. The PS Plus Essential January 2025 games announcement squelched onto the internet soundtracked by groans, with players finding that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League headlined it. It’s a AAA game, yes, but one that many would consider dead on arrival even before it announced that it was packing up its seasonal content.

It was an underwhelming drop to say the least, and players were frustrated that there was less for them this month. There’s another month to come, though, and it’s not like PlayStation can’t claw the service back – especially as our Essential February 2025 predictions included Sea of Stars, a gorgeous Indie RPG that will offer you hours of gameplay and excitement if you’re willing to give it your time. We can’t.
