The second installment of Mohanlal starrer Lucifer, L2: Empuraan has finally released on the big screens for everyone to enjoy. The Malayalam actioner also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, who had directed both the films. It has managed to break box-office records on day one itself, with an approx collection of Rs 22 crore.

The release of the film has, however, left the internet divided, as it has received mixed reactions from the critics as well as the audiences. A Mohanlal fan took to his social media handle and slammed the makers as well as the actor for negatively portraying Hindus in the film. For those who don’t know, the first 15 mins of the film showcase communal riots of 2002, which had happened in Gujarat.



Captioning his tweet as “The Day My Heart Broke at the Theatre,” he expressed how he always called himself a hardcore Mohanlal fan. “Not just a fan an admirer, a worshipper of his art, his screen presence, his humility. His films have been my escape, my joy, and my pride as a Malayali and as a Hindu,” he wrote.
