TV presenter Elaine Crowley became the second celebrity to be eliminated from Dancing with the Stars last night. After the show, Crowley said she was doing it for her nephews and that the show was “one of the most difficult things I’ve done in my life”. Crowley and her pro partner Denys Samson did a jive to You Can't Stop the Beat from Hairspray for Movie Week.
“I was doing it for my nephews, because it’s been a rough few years for them, and, you know, they've had a rough enough time,” she said. “I wanted to dance, bring them up to watch the show and dance in front of them so they could mock me, basically, and have a bit of a giggle.” Crowley lost her nephew Ultan (11) to a rare form of cancer in 2023.
“I just wanted to do it to cheer my family up, to be quite honest, that's the only reason,” she said “I didn't do it for myself, or that way I did it for my family, to give them a giggle, because, I mean, it's not something I ever pursued, or ever could have imagined myself doing.” The Virgin Media star said the show was “probably one of the most difficult things I've done in my life”. “I'm not going to lie, it was very challenging, very, very hard.
I'm banjaxed from it. My calves are rock hard and they're really, really sore. I could barely walk this morning.
“I'm very used to live television. I don't mind live television at all. Tonight was the most nervous I've ever been on live television.
And I've been doing television for 25 years, So that .
