Onlookers were left gobsmacked as they watched a flawless performance on the New York subway. They were even more shocked when they realised who the 'emo boy' behind the rendition was. He was wearing a black wig, black sunglasses, a black hat, and a black collared bomber jacket, but fans of the pop sensation will have figured out who it was from his easily recognizable tone of voice.

So, who was gracing fans with a gorgeous performance of Chappell Roan's 'Pink Pony Club'? It was none other than British superstar Ed Sheeran , who is well known for hits like 'A Team' and 'Perfect'. Sheeran's major breakthrough came in 2011 after signing with Asylum Records and releasing his first studio album, + (pronounced plus), which included hits like 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You' and 'Lego House'. He was shot to worldwide fame, however, with his 2014 album, x (pronounced multiply), which is known for songs like like 'Thinking Out Loud' and 'Sing'.



Providing backup vocals on the subway was none other than Jimmy Fallon, with the pair pulling off the performance for the presenter's TV show, 'The Tonight Show'. They were at the Rockefeller Center station providing entertainment for all to see, and someone said that Ed's new album must be "imminent" as he's "popping up in random places again". Another joked: "Jimmy did not do a very good job on his disguise," and someone responded: "Feels like he was too committed to being an emo character, that he didn’t match the energy of the song/ perfo.
