Coronation Street bosses are selling off old costumes from the soap amid an alleged financial crisis. The ITV soap has been slammed for a mass cast exodus in recent months, with Jenny Connor star Sally Ann Matthews claiming the soap “has no money” in a bizarre social media rant. The actress said in December: “We don’t do on location.
.. right.
.. okay so the whole ‘ Corrie doesn’t do location any more’.
“Thankfully because I fricking hate being on location. Location is sh**. I hate it.
So I’m glad ITV have got no money – am I allowed to say that? Well, I have said it.” Stars including Charlotte Jordan, Sue Cleaver , Helen Worth and Sue Devaney have been axed or handed in their notice in recent months. Now Corrie is apparently looking to recoup some lost cash by flogging old clothing on eBay as part of ITV’s ReLoved scheme.
Currently on sale for a whopping £360 is a belted grey Oasis coat worn by Michelle Connor star Kym Marsh. The item has 30 bids at time of writing, and is said to be in “good used condition”. The description adds: “It shows some signs of wear from its time keeping Kym Marsh warm on set - please see photos for details of its preloved condition.
” With a starting price of just £5, the coat’s cost has skyrocketed. And it’s not the only item on sale for an eye-watering fee. An “incredibly rare” T-shirt for David Platt’s barber shop Trim Up North is going for a whopping £102 with 10 bids, while a polo shirt for Prima Done.
