Wordsmith Susie Dent shared an insight into her life this evening on a brand new episode of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. The star was at her regular spot in Dictionary Corner on the Jimmy Carr hosted show as she shared one thing that she's scared of. Hull-born comedian and actress Amy Gledhill was also on the Channel 4 fan favourite as Jimmy asked Susie if there's any Yorkshire words that she likes.
She replied knowledgably: "Yes. There's shotclog which is the person in the pub that you only tolerate because they're buying the next round." Amy burst out laughing with the audience as Susie added: "That's shotclog.
And there's quabbles." Expanding a bit more, whilst looking at her hands, she continued: "Which is my phobia, but it's wrinkly fingers from being in the bath too long." Jimmy was perplexed as he quizzed: "You've got.
.. you've got a phobia of that?" Susie lifted her hands up and waved them around, responding: "When I go swimming I have to have my hands above the water.
" The star is the resident lexicographer and adjudicator for the letters rounds of the iconic game show, and the 8 Out of 10 Cats spin off. The 60-year-old is the longest-serving member of the Channel 4 show's current team and has made more than 4,500 appearances since 1992. Speaking about her time on the show, Susie previously said: "I never expected that to be my career path but I feel incredibly lucky it was because it’s the best gig in the world.
"I still feel that sense of urgency to find a go.
