Ginny Holder, famed for her role as Darlene on Death in Paradise, has just let slip a significant spoiler, revealing that fans should brace for the arrival of a new face in the upcoming series. The BBC hit is set for a comeback on our screens with the latest teaser hinting that "may be a new detective in town" yet it will be "business as usual" on the tropical island. Ginny, ahead of the anticipated release, opened up about what devoted viewers can anticipate from Darlene's narrative arc.

She disclosed: "Darlene loves her job, and she's become quite obsessed with the crime board this series. She loves it. She likes to have things done in a certain way and loves going into detail with the case and the investigation.



" The actress elaborated further: "Her desk is always full and she's always busy doing things. She's a doer and it excites her, whether it's going undercover or trying to find out who the killer is." During an interview focusing on her most memorable moments in the impending season, Ginny inadvertently gave away that her character would be teaming up with the new recruit, stating: "There's a great episode where Darlene gets to go undercover with a new officer.

" Eager fans can circle January 31 on their calendars for the season premiere, promising a stellar assortment of guest stars including Tobi Bakare of Kingsman fame, Sex Education's Patricia Allison, McDonald and Dodds' Tala Gouveia, and Simon Lennon from Emmerdale .
