In her message, delivered after her visit to Grand Cayman in early March 2025 as part of the 2025 Love and Harmony reggae music cruise, Richards-Ross highlighted the current challenges faced by cruise passengers due to the lack of adequate docking infrastructure. She explained that her experience of having to take a ferry to reach her cruise ship left her frustrated, and she believes the situation needs to change.
Richards-Ross shared her concerns in a heartfelt video, emphasizing the unnecessary anxiety that long waits in the tendering process create for travelers. “It’s so beautiful here, but having to take the ferry, waiting in long lines to get back on the ship—there has to be a better way,” she said. “If I were you, I would vote ‘yes’ to the cruise berthing facilities, as it will not only improve tourism but also alleviate unnecessary stress for travelers.
