The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) presented its annual budget on Saturday, with a total outlay of Rs 19,930 crore for 2025-26 —marking a 50 per cent increase from the previous fiscal year. A significant portion of the revenue is sourced from state government grants.Dr Harish Kumar K, Special Commissioner (Finance), presented the budget at Town Hall in the presence of BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath and Administrator S R Umashankar.

This is the fifth consecutive budget being presented without an elected body..- The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike has collected property tax of around Rs.



4900 Crore in the year 2024-25, which is the highest in India for the second consecutive year. - During the year 2025-26, Rs.5716 Crore revenue is expected.

- One-Time Settlement Scheme (OTS) for paying outstanding property tax that would benefit both the BBMP and the citizens, by providing a historic opportunity to lakhs of people of the city to participate in property tax payment mainstream. Rs.1277 Crore of arrears have been collected from around 3 lakh properties.

- The BBMP has fulfilled the promise made to the citizens by the Honorable Deputy Chief Minister by implementing Online, Contactless, Faceless e-khata system by digitizing all the 25 Lakh manual khatas.
